The Story
Due to explosive growth in the Florida and Georgia areas, the customer’s sales were increasing but their foodservice logistics methods were holding them back from continued growth.
The Opportunity
The customer was experiencing a daunting issue: an overwhelming supply chain. They needed a 3PL partner to reconfigure their logistics strategies.
The Delivery
CWI Logistics assembled a cross-functional team – operations, human resources, IT, and more. CWI then set up multi-faceted distribution operations using:
- Just-in-time (JIT) technologies
- Inventory lists
- Supply chain management
- Multi-temperature cold chain needs for produce, fresh meats, dried goods, and frozen food (including ice cream)
Through three supply streams: traditional warehouse inventory, cross-docking, and pool distribution (reverse pick), CWI Logistics seized the customer’s opportunity and helped rebuild their supply chain.
The Result
The customer’s network was fully up and operational within just three weeks, bringing stability to their supply chain and greatly increasing their capacity for additional growth.
