Commercial Warehousing to attend supply chain association charity golf tournament in Atlanta, GA

On May 17th, Commercial Warehousing will be participating in a charity golf event being coordinated by the Atlanta, GA CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) and chaired by Rob Doyle, Commercial Warehousing’s Vice-President of Business Development.

The event which is sold out and has attendees from across the supply chain spectrum from shippers to 3PL’s as well as carriers and consulting firms just to name a few. The proceeds from the event go to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. It is a great way to give back to an outstanding cause and spend time networking with other supply chain professionals as well as current and prospective customers.

Commercial Warehousing Steps Up for Schwan’s Consumer Brands Inc.

As the Schwan’s Consumer Brands company launched a new sales initiative, the Commercial Warehousing team worked tirelessly to ensure all of the customer orders shipped out on time and with 100% accuracy. Part of the initiative had a returns component built in and the team stepped up to the challenge of processing the shipments and returns in a timely and accurate manner.

“I realize that the high rate of returns has impacted your operation and I can assure you that senior management is involved with the how and why they are so high. Although the solve won’t come as quickly as we would like I wanted to let you all know that it is a large bright blip on the radar screen. With that said, the southeast region is the ONLY region in the company that actually hit and over delivered the Q1 sales plan, which caused returns. Without your dedication to our business, we could not have accomplished over delivering our plan. “

Commercial Warehousing to attend upcoming WERC conference in Atlanta!

Commercial Warehousing is looking forward to attending the upcoming WERC conference being held in Atlanta, GA May 6-9th. Kevin Margeson, company President and Rob Doyle, V.P. of Business Development will be in attendance at the conference and will also have a booth at the WIRE event. The Commercial Warehousing team will be stationed at booth 210 and will also be attending the various networking and educational sessions as well.

The WERC conference will have attendees from across the supply chain spectrum and the Commercial Warehousing team is looking forward to discussing their public and contract warehousing operations as well as their transportation and packaging services as well.

Commercial Warehousing Receives First Loads of Tequila from New Client

Recently the team at the Commercial Warehouse facility in Auburndale received its first loads of tequila in support of one of their new customers which is a bottler of tequila in Florida.

Commercial Warehousing is providing; warehousing, distribution, transportation and plant support services in support of their client by utilizing their secured bonded space for this product and their decades of experience handling a variety of beverage products.

Commercial Warehousing Well Positioned to Support Port of Tampa

The Commercial Warehousing team is well positioned to support the Port of Tampa as a full service 3PL offering public and contract warehousing services as well as transportation and packaging services as well. Commercial Warehousing has almost two million square feet of multi-temperature public warehouse space all within 30 miles of the Port of Tampa along the I-4 corridor. Rail access is also available for transload, cross-dock and consolidation operations.

From a transportation perspective, through our COMCAR Industries sister companies, Commercial can offer dry van, reefer, flat bed and tanker/bulk transportation services as well out of the Port of Tampa.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office to Input Orders Directly into Our System

The Polk County Sheriff’s office also chose to utilize our warehouse management system (WMS) to input orders directly into our system. The Accellos 3PL software is well suited for this type of value added service for our clients to ensure a smooth and timely transfer of data while offering real-time visibility for inventory and transactions.

Commercial Warehousing Enhances Material Handling Capability

In an effort to improve operational capabilities and capacity at our distribution facilities, we have finalized an agreement to purchase over 30 new pieces of material handling equipment at a cost of over $1,000,000. This move is a direct reflection of the growth at Commercial Warehousing and is just one of several steps being made to help the employees from a capacity and efficiency perspective.

The executive team, led by Kevin Margeson, President of Commercial Warehousing, felt now was the time to make this investment in the company’s future and will help ensure our operational excellence for years to come.

This new equipment will also enhance our case pick capability which is critical as we move forward and will help us maintain a world class levels of pick and pack services and operational execution.

CWI awarded Three Year Warehousing Contract from Polk County Sheriff’s Department

In a letter recently received from the Sheriff’s Office of Polk County, Commercial Warehousing has been awarded a three year contract to provide cold storage warehousing and distribution services through 2015. The Commercial Warehousing team is proud to be once again supporting local law enforcement and the citizens of Polk County.

Since 1966, Commercial Warehousing has been providing multi-temperature contract and public warehousing services as well as transportation and many other supply chain value added services.

Commercial Warehousing Passes Rigorous FDA Inspection

Two of our warehouses, a repack facility and a cooler facility were recently inspected by Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDOACS) Inspectors. Two inspections were done in fact during this visit; an FDA and FDOACS style inspections both targeting compliance of the FDA 8 point Food Safety Guidelines or criteria. The report captured findings of both inspections, both warehouses received a “GOOD” grade which is the highest score available from these agencies. The inspectors were pleased with our SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) in which we document the results of internal inspections that follow FDA 8 point Food Safety criteria or guidelines. The inspectors were accompanied by Otto Ondruska, Health and Safety Supervisor and Mike Dymond, Vice-President of Operations for Commercial Warehousing.

The Commercial Warehousing teams takes our responsibility very serious in the area of food safety and will continue to operate at a very sanitary and efficient level.
